I'm new, but i wanted to tell everyone about a great show next week...Check out The Dig's the Monday (2/11) @ Mercury Lounge. Come out & support so this is the 1st of many shows @ ML. If you've ever seen them or wanted to see them, this performance will surely top them all. Click the link for more details about The Dig, but some say they're kind of Pink Floyd, The Beatles, and Radiohead mix together with a modern refreshing twist!

    TERRY CHRISTOPHER www.terrychristopher.com
Terry is an award winning songwriter whose first CD, Take Another Look, received critical acclaim and placed in the Top 10 CD's for 2003 & 2005 on Outvoice Monthly Top 40. Terry's new Pop/Rock/Blues CD, Journey of a Wordsmith, currently holds the #1 spot on that same chart and has received great Indie & FM radio exposure. We love exposure.

    LEIBYA ROGERS www.myspace.com/leibyarocks
Her "nipples taste like tofu" and her music will change you. Leibya Rogers is a musical poet who is rocking NYC's alternative comedy scene. She recently was named "New York's Funniest Band" and has just released her first EP, “Leibya Spells Freedom”. "When I sing, your soul jumps out of your body and nestles in between my legs." – Leibya Rogers

    JOHN MANION www.johnmanion.com coming soon
His lyrics alternate between the humorous and the intensely personal, he's got an impressive vocal range, and he does some dynamic work with the acoustic guitar. A vet of the Nashville music scene now playing in NY, Manion has also released 4 independent records (New Bohemian) and will regale you with his Southern charm and finely crafted songs.

    ANNIE DINERMAN www.anniedinerman.com www.myspace.com/anniedinerman
In 2006, Annie Dinerman received the Abe Olman Award from Songwriters Hall of Fame, made her debut at the Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas, and released her debut indie CD "1,001 American Nights". She recently received a grant from the Anna Sosenko Trust and is working on new music.

    MARKEISHA ENSLEY www.markeishaensley.com www.myspace.com/markeishaensley
A dynamic songwriter/pianist with a powerhouse soulful voice, Markeisha recently released her debut album "Ready" to popular acclaim and was just included on the Songwriter's Hall of Fame New Writer's CD Compilation, performing her tunes at The Cutting Room.

    GENEVIEVE www.genevieve-music.com www.myspace.com/genevievesmusic
LA-based artist Genevieve is on tour in support of her recently released "gladiator girl" EP. Her previous album "This Little Thing Called Life" has received a great deal of indie spins and was a finalist for #1 Album/Artist of the Year in Radio Crystal Blue's Airplay Vote.

    ERIKA KULNYS www.erikakulnys.com www.myspace.com/erikakulnys
This silver-voiced Nova Scotian songlark sings love stories about cacti, ruminates on psychics, & plays toe tappin’ fiddle playin’ beer drinkin’ music to boot. Winning the 2005-06 Watson Fellowship for social change through music led to an international tour, and she has collaborated with Ferron, Lucie Blue Tremblay, & Scott MacMillan, opened for Deirdre McCalla, Emm Gryner, & Rose Vaughan, & shared festival stages with Dar Williams, Richie Havens, Guy Davis, Josh Ritter, Richard Thompson & Ani DiFranco.

    DAN MANJOVI www.danmanjovi.com www.myspace.com/danmanjovi
Dan and his band have appeared at most top NYC music rooms including the Canal Room, the Cutting Room and The Bitter End. ASCAP praised his "accomplished keyboard work and sophisticated yet catchy pop songcraft" and industry buzz about his first CD landed him a coveted slot as a featured artist at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival/ASCAP Music Lounge where he and his band performed alongside Nellie McKay, John Mayer, Martin Luther and Elvis Costello. He also has a new musical in pre-production and will perform a series of solo outdoor concerts in Bryant Park's Piano in The Park Series in July.

    AMY CLARKE http://www.amyclarke.com http://www.myspace.com/amyclarke
Since self-producing and releasing her After The Fall EP independently last year, Williamsburg local Amy Clarke has performed solo at The Cutting Room, The Bitter End, CB's 313 Gallery, Rose Live Music & Rockwood Music Hall, started touring nationally, experimented live with excellent guest musicians, & staged a series of up-and-coming songwriter showcases in Williamsburg and Manhattan. She was also a finalist for #1 EP Artist in Radio Crystal Blue’s Airplay Vote 06-07 (in addition to countless FM, internet, & satellite radio spins) & received her first ASCAPlus Award. She is currently recording a full album to be released through non-traditional distribution methods.

I really loved the Police at one point in my life. Enough to drive me to obsess out loud about stealing their box set so much that my friend stole it for me! I'm not sure I would enjoy seeing them now...I think I would rather see a really devoted cover band of the Police.

I saw an excellent cover band for Gabriel era Genesis twice. The Musical Box I think they were called. Totally amazing and I imagine it was as good, if not better, than what seeing Genesis in the flesh back then would have been...

I was supposed to see a Queen cover band the next day, but fate intervened and stopped me from becoming a cover band nerd when my friend coerced me to leave before the band started...

if you like those bands, you might enjoy my music. I made an album using my laptop, a mess of cut up and edited samples, a ton of midi gear, my acoustic guitar and hand drums, and about 7 months of being unemployed. It was a gift from the godz to have so much time to work on music. I must do it again someday :) Anyhootz...here's my myspace page and then a link to stream the whole album, "The Afterbirth of Cool" for free.
