Pros and cons
Pros:
- The modest annual fee makes holding this card accessible.
- The bonus category multipliers mean that the Bilt Obsidian Card can earn a lot of Bilt points without a hefty price tag.
Cons:
- Your category choice of groceries or dining is locked for the year. If you want to earn rewards on both categories, take a look at the American Express® Gold Card.
- The $100 Bilt Travel Hotel credit is not very valuable. It's split into two semiannual $50 credits for eligible hotel bookings through the Bilt Travel Portal.
Our take
As the middle-of-the-road option of the Bilt 2.0 Cards, the Bilt Obsidian Card is the Goldilocks option for those wanting to earn rewards on groceries or dining, while also earning rewards on rent or mortgage payments.
